The one burning Mika eye on the tower behind the Black Grill Gate. Its gaze is a patch of light on the ground that you can see coming. He is simply hungry.

How his gaze worksZo werkt zijn blik
The Eye looks at one place at a time: the patch of light with the eye in it and little flames around it. When somebody stands on the Ash Field or the Bare Plain, the patch moves back and forth along the route there. The Eye only sees you when you stand in the patch AND nothing stands between you and the tower. A rock under the Little Elven Cloak he does not see. The Nibble Ring he does: he feels it everywhere in the valley.
Het Oog kijkt naar één plek tegelijk: de lichtvlek met het oog erin en vlammetjes eromheen. Staat er iemand op het Asveld of de Kale Vlakte, dan loopt de vlek daar heen en weer over de route. Het Oog ziet je alleen als je in de vlek staat én er niets tussen jou en de toren staat. Een rots onder het Elfenmanteltje ziet hij niet. De Knabbelring wel: die voelt hij overal in het dal.

Whoever finished the story he leaves alone: he has had his piece of the ring. When nobody else is around, he closes his eye and sleeps. The statuette you get blinks, gives a little light and has thoughts of its own when you click it.
Wie het verhaal af heeft, laat hij met rust: hij heeft zijn stukje ring gehad. Is er verder niemand, dan doet hij zijn oog dicht en slaapt. Het beeldje dat je krijgt knippert, geeft een beetje licht en heeft zo zijn gedachten als je erop klikt.
